Recently, there was a fictitious airline called “Derrier-Air” running advertisements in The Inquirer, Daily News and philly.com for the Philadelphia region.
Key points about the fictitious Airlines (from here) –
- First Carbon neutral luxury airline
- Cost of a ticket = (Passenger + Luggage Weight) x Cost per Pound
- Luxury Airlines – “There will simply be too many extras and treats on our flights to list
here, but highlights will include: gorgeous air hosts and hostesses,
golden-age Rat Pack films, top-shelf vodka Martinis, on-demand video
blackjack, spacious private washrooms outfitted with porcelain fixtures
and gilded faucets, gourmet snacks, on-board masseuses, loofah scrubs
and, of course, digital cable!“
So for 200 pounds of me and my bags, my ticket price would be –
Philly to Los Angeles – $450; Philly to Chicago – $280; Philly to Dallas – $320; Philly to Miami – $330 ;Philly to Denver – $380
At the bottom of their Advertisement 🙂 –
“The Derrie-Air campaign is a fictitious advertising campaign created by
Philadelphia Media Holdings to test the results of advertising in our
print and online products and to stimulate discussion on a timely
environmental topic of interest to all citizens. All names, identities,
characters, persons, whether living or dead, companies, situations,
offers, products, services, and other information appearing in this
campaign and the associated website are fictitious. Any resemblance to
real or fictitious names, identities, characters, persons, whether
living or dead, companies, situations, offers, products, services, or
other information, is purely coincidental and unintentional. In other
words, smile, we’re pulling your leg.“
